Music had always been a part of ’Zel's life, even before he understood the role it would eventually play. From recreating Michael Jackson's moonwalk to imitating Justin Timberlake's dance moves, his earliest relationship with music was rooted in curiosity, expression, and enjoyment.

Although he initially lost interest in playing the trombone, his mother insisted he remain in his school's band through graduation. What once felt like an obligation became an invaluable musical foundation. He still remembers the first time music gave him chills while performing Gustav Holst's Fantasia on the Dargason from Second Suite in F.

His fascination with creating music began unexpectedly with a keyboard originally purchased for his older sister. Drawn to its sounds, ’Zel would spend late nights experimenting with the instrument before his brother-in-law introduced him to beat-making. Inspired by watching producer Ryan Leslie construct records from scratch, he began recreating popular instrumentals by ear and sharing videos of himself playing music online.

When his high school best friend, Ethan Lewis, suggested they form a rap group called Running Rebels, ’Zel agreed to become its producer, not fully understanding where the opportunity would lead.

What began as a series of seemingly unrelated experiences gradually developed into something much greater. Music had always been there, and over time, ’Zel began to recognize it as more than an interest. It was becoming his calling.

THE BEGINNING

His journey as a recording artist continued through the formation of hip-hop duo Royal Rebels alongside fellow artist The Late Anthony Wong. Initially serving as the group’s primary producer, ’Zel gradually developed his songwriting and performance identity, building a following throughout the Pocono region.

Following the group’s run, he dedicated himself to becoming a well-rounded solo artist, refining his musicianship, stage presence, and visual presentation. What emerged was a performer known for commanding energy, stylistic versatility, and an intentional approach to creating memorable live experiences.

THE TURNING POINT

In August 2024, just six days after performing at Bethlehem’s Musikfest, ’Zel survived a near-fatal car accident that left him with life-threatening injuries and required extensive medical treatment. The experience reshaped his perspective on time, ambition, and personal well-being, reinforcing the importance of pursuing his dreams with greater intention.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

In June 2026, he released his self-produced album Departure, a personal and genre-blending project reflecting his artistic evolution and life experiences.

That same year marked several major career milestones. A five-time Musikfest performer, ’Zel opened for hip-hop artists DaBaby and T.I., walked the runway at New York Fashion Week, and received the Best Music & Performer Award at the InnaStar Trailblazer Awards. His single Fired Up (Remix) featuring Alahji DáQuan also received national radio exposure on SiriusXM’s Shade 45.

Beyond music, ’Zel’s creativity extends into fashion, modeling, and visual storytelling. Known for his distinctive personal style and smooth demeanor, he approaches every element of his artistry with careful thought and attention to detail.

Now based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, ’Zel continues to expand his reach while remaining committed to creating music that evokes nostalgia, celebrates individuality, and gives voice to emotions often left unspoken.
